Cutting
Edge Cutlery
Kali/Arnis/Escrima Equipment Bag
The
best overall description of this bag is that it is a great
value.
It's
not perfect. It doesn't solve any special problems (i.ie.
no space for extra long sticks or slice-proof knife pockets).
But it does a pretty good job at just about everything
and, most importantly, it's affordable!
As
shown below (picture courtesy of Cutting Edge), the bag
can carry an impressive amount of gear (not included with
purchase). It has a parallel, double zipper opening along
its entire top which makes it easy to get things in and
out.
And it has an inner pocket to hold smaller things you
don't want to lose in the bottom - like your wallet and
watch when you are working out. It has double handles
mid-body, sports bag style, as well as adjustable sling-strap
that runs the length of the body. It's construction is
black medium-weight ballistic nylon with medium-duty zippers.
It
does have some short-comings, but nothing out of sync
with its price tag. Some of the seams at critical stress
points would have benefitted from heavier thread or double-stitching.
And the size, while a benefit when you have a full load,
is a bit of a detriment when you are only carrying
a couple pairs of sticks - it tends to sag and flop around
- some cinch straps around the ends would have helped.
Finally, it isn't long enough for my 36" Krabi Krabong
rattan or my longer swords - but then, nothing I own is.
I've
taken to keeping my entire trove of training sticks in
it - as you can see, 10 pairs of rattan ably fit in the
bag - with space to spare.
So
if you are looking for a good general purpose stick bag,
one with a large carrying capacity, then this is it. You
may find it too large if you are only packing a couple
of pairs of sticks on the bus but it's just right if you
have a car trunk to carry it in or want everything with
you including your shoes, T-shirt, towel, mask, gloves.......
well, you get the idea.
And,
oh yeah, you just can't beat that price.
