Leslie Buck's Contrado Tortal design Fighter's Stick Bag

This is it!! The best bag I have ever used. Do I exaggerate? Do I expound needlessly? You decide. I'm not going back.

Originally designed for dueling by Conrado Tortal of the Pekiti Tirsia System of Kali, this weapons case is for organizing and carrying your Filipino Kali, Arnis, Escrima, Indonesian Silat and other martial arts training gear. It features durability, flexibility, portability, and easy access.

Long ago, Grandmaster Conrado would seek other Kali masters to challenge; upon finding them, he would unroll his carrying case to reveal sticks, swords, knives and .45 caliber handguns. The two would then choose their weapons and duel to perfect the art. If at any time Conrado was attacked while carrying his weapons case, he could pull a strap to quickly unroll the case, still hanging from his shoulder, and access his weapons while shielding his body from assault.

The grandson of Conrado Tortal, Tuhon Leo Tortal Gaje brought Pekiti-Tirsia from the Philippines to the west as well as this modernized design of the dueling case. These are made available with his permission. Offered by guro Leslie Buck of Pekiti-Tirsia, you don't have to duel anyone to use this case. But if you're a stick fighter or instructor, you'll know that this case has been designed by someone who used it.

Made of durable black cordura material, the case unrolls to offer individual storage compartments. Multiple pockets allow for various weapons to be stored and protected from wear and tear. Seams are heavily stitched. The buckles are solid and the carry straps are adjustable.

Able to hold sticks and swords up to 31 inches, this case is excellent for carrying all that is needed to teach, demonstrate or train. It offers four full length stick pockets (two extra-wide) that can carry up to four sticks each (your mileage may vary) and/or one sword. In addition, there are three knife length pockets of comparable width, plus an additional jumbo sized pocket that can carry knives, tape, sarongs, first aid, or other useful items.

All pockets have a durable velcro enclosure to ensure a tight close. When finished, simply roll up the case and secure with the quick open velcro strap located at the center, then lock the two outer straps with adjustable buckles. A wide shoulder strap can be adjusted to fit.

I have been working with this bag for over a year now and I am totally pleased with myself. Insufferable some might say. It delivers on everything that it promises.

What?!?! No short-comings? Well sure. Very, very minor. The velcro middle strap could be an extra 2 inches longer for when the bag is fully stuffed - however the two clipped straps are easily long enough. And there is no obvious way to lock it shut (for airplane rides). Some might say the pockets aren't deep enough for longer sticks like 36" Krabi lumber - but you can let them stick out if you need to. But I think all of these comments are just being fussy.

I knew when I saw this bag that it was simply as good as it gets. You tell me...
